Puchar Polskiego Związku Żeglarskiego 2019 przeszedł do historii
For the fourth time in a row, the regatta base was Krynica Morska. This year, due to the tight schedule of international events, regattas were held only on one date for all classes, and not in two as it was in recent years. As a result, the Vistula Lagoon has become infested with players of many classes. During the entire regatta we had a cross section of almost every condition - Thursday greeted everyone with a solid wind, reaching almost 20 knots, creating great conditions for sailing, and in the following days we also had a wind with only a few knots, the sun and last rain and low temperature.
In the RS: X windsurfing class in the women's category Małgorzata Białecka (SKŻ ERGO Hestia Sopot) won the race, which started the regatta from the third position. However, day after day, she stuck up the stakes and she won five of eleven races altogether, swimming with the juniors and secured her final triumph. The second place was taken by her club friend, and on the lowest step of the podium was another Sopot, Maja Dziarnowska. The best junior was Kamil Manowiecki (SKŻ ERGO Hestia Sopot), who also won the general classification with seniors, and two further places were taken by players from the GKŻ Gdańsk club - Michał Polak and Dominik Lewiński.
- Regatta for the Polish Sailing Association Cup is the first competition this season in Poland. The weather in May is different, and during these competitions it was demanding, because it was exceptionally cold, and today the temperature did not even exceed 10 degrees so the hands and feet were very freezing. In addition, the wind was very squishy so you had to keep your eyes around your head and be very vigilant. Therefore, I am glad that I presented a good form here - said Małgorzata Białecka.
Among the seniors Radosław Furmański (DKŻ Dobrzyń) was consistently on the lead from the first to the last day, the other was finally his club mate Maciej Kluszczyński, and the third place went to Tomasz Romanowski (AZS Poznań). The start of the race was Piotr Myszka (AZS AWFiS Gdańsk), but in the first race he caught the stabilizer with an invisible underwater "trap" and seriously damaged it. It was true that he reached the finishing line in the first position, but later he had to withdraw further competition and he was unable to repair the equipment before the end of the competition.
In the Techno 293 class, the top three included Michał Lis (KS Baza Mrągowo) and two players of the SKŻ ERGO Hestia Sopot club - Krzysztof Żarnowski and Julian Wardaszko. Alexander Wasiewicz won the competition for girls before Nell Ryan (both SKŻ ERGO Hestia Sopot) and Pola Wawrzyniak (AZS Poznań).
Maks Żakowski (MKR Tramp Mielno) was unrivaled in Kite Foil, which was the best in thirteen of the fifteen races. The second place was taken by Błażej Ożóg, and the third by Jakub Jurkowski (both SKŻ ERGO Hestia Sopot). The entire podium was taken by the sopis - Julia Damasiewicz, Magdalena Woyciechowska and Nina Arcisz.
